Former First Lady Melania Trump on Tuesday called for clarity regarding the assassination attempt on her husband, Donald Trump, and questioned why law enforcement officials did not arrest the shooter prior to the campaign rally.
In a 34-second video posted on her X account, Melania urged for the truth behind the July assassination attempt on her husband. Trump was struck by a bullet in the ear while speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The assassin and one other rally attendee were killed in the incident.

“The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience,” Melania said in the video. “Now, the silence surrounding it feels heavy.”
In the clip, she questioned, “I can’t help but wonder: Why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?.”
The 54-year-old expressed concern, stating, “There is definitely more to this story and we need to uncover the truth.”
Melania’s video comes as Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and Republican candidate Donald Trump prepare to take the stage for Tuesday night’s debate in Philadelphia.
This debate marks a pivotal moment in the 2024 election campaign, following significant developments including President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race, Trump’s assassination attempt, and the selection of running mates by both parties.
