A video of US President Joe Biden ignoring a young, Black American lady while addressing supporters at an event in Madison, Wisconsin is going viral on social media. Republicans have latched on to the video and are using it to attack Joe Biden as they find the incumbent on the backfoot following the disastrous performance at the debate against Donald Trump.
In the video, the Black American young lady was seen waiting holding the Biden-Harris signage and greeted when she saw Biden face-to-face, but the US President did not greet the woman and then went ahead and ignored her and hugged an old lady who was also part of the queue.

The video went viral with many feeling bad for the girl, who seemed very excited when she saw the President but was left deflated when she was not acknowledged.
“The moment when she realised her “hero” doesn’t like people of her colour,” a social media user posted on X. “Trump should run this as a campaign ad,” an X user said after reposting the video.
The video is likely to impact the Biden campaign on social media as a number of polls have shown that Biden is losing ground with the Black voters who propelled him to the White House.
Some Black voters, especially the young, are frustrated by what they see as Biden’s failure to tackle priorities on the economy and on voter rights.
A New York Times/Siena poll in November found 71 percent of Black voters in six battleground states would back Biden — down drastically from 91 percent in 2020 — and 22 percent would back Trump despite his racially charged rhetoric.
Former President Donald Trump, speaking to about 200 people at Detroit’s 180 Church in June, courted Black voters by criticising President Joe Biden’s role in the 1994 crime bill, which has been linked to mass incarceration of Black Americans.
Trump presented himself as the best president for Black Americans since Abraham Lincoln at the event, downplaying his history of racist remarks and calls for tougher policing, as per a report by the New York Times.
