In recent years, air fryers have become a rage amongst health-conscious foodies. As its name suggests, an air fryer cooks food by circulating hot air around the food. The countertop appliance can reach 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) which allows one to cook a range of dishes. The proponents of air fryers claim that the appliance requires minimal fat to cook food and yet, it brings out the dish’s flavour. Many people also doubt the device and deem it overhyped. Recently, a woman who once dismissed air fryers announced that she has now changed her mind.
The woman reshared her 2021 post that read, “I am sick of the air fryer propaganda!!! leave us alone!!” She responded to this and wrote, “I want to express my sincerest apologies to the air fryer community. I was not familiar with your game. This is some of the best chicken I’ve had, and I’m sorry I doubted you all. Please respect my privacy at this time while I process this information.” She also attached a photo of perfectly cooked chicken legs.

This post already has over 9.8 lakh views and 37,000 likes in just a day. This update undoubtedly thrilled the “air fryer community” and perhaps convinced some to take a leap of faith and try the home appliance. Commenting on this post, an X user wrote, “Over the past few days I’ve air fried omelettes, chicken, chicken nuggets, frozen crisps, now trying sausage rolls. I think these people were right.”

An air fryer enthusiast wrote, “Join the club! I only use an air fryer and an instant pot. Goodbye microwave and stovetop. Only reason I use the oven is to broil the top of my steak for 3 minutes lol.”

However, not everyone joined in on the praise. An X user wrote that they find food cooked in an air fryer to be too dry for their liking.
The ones my parents makes has a hint taste of dry af air and I hate it… They don't know that air fryer doesn't mean you don't add butter or something to moisten it…— Enclair ???? (@_Enclair_) April 23, 2024
Another person wrote, “The food being good still doesn’t change the fact that it’s annoying propaganda. It’s like people nagging me to watch Lost and Breaking Bad. Yeah, they slapped. It was still not worth the nagging.”

Despite its steadily soaring popularity, air fryers have some setbacks. They are much smaller than an oven and microwave and are hence not suitable for families. While the device does cook food quickly, at the same time, it also has a high risk of burning food more easily if one is not careful.
