MG’s most affordable EV Comet is now available with a 7.4kW AC charger. The entry-level EV can reach battery level from 0 to 100 in less than 3.5 hours, using the newly added fast charger.
The updated models have been introduced at the starting price of Rs 8.24 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top model goes up to Rs 9.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
MG Comet with Fast Charging Option
The decision to update the lineup came after witnessing a high demand from customers. Most of the customers were inclined towards the EV from the start, all thanks to the compact futuristic design. However, most of them never turned into buyers due to the slow 3.3kW AC charger.
As the fast charging option has been added, there is an expectation that the company might receive a positive response from the Indian market.
Top Features
The EV comes with a long list of robust features, which makes it stand out from the crowd. It gets fully LED treatment from both the front and rear end, featuring a sweet touch of chrome around DRLs. It runs on 12-inch stylish alloy wheels, is treated with multi-link coils suspension at the back, while the front is filled with McPherson struts in the front.
Battery and Range
At the heart, the micro-hatchback is powered by a 17.3kWh battery pack, which generates a max power of 42 bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. It offers a decent range of around 230, and comes with a top speed of 100 kmph.
