Breanne Allarie is a former gymnast but left the sport after suffering a severe injury in her back.

The Olympic fever has set in, becoming the central point of attention for thousands across the globe. While viewers are hooked on their screens to catch the spectacular performances of the athletes, some are trying their best to bring out their inner Olympians. Now, a Canadian mom has proved that you don’t have to be Simone Biles to pull off a smooth floor routine. Breanne Allarie, in her latest Instagram post, could be seen doing some epic gymnastics moves. However, she performed it not at any academy but in her kitchen.

Allarie delighted her followers with the video a few days ago, including the official handle of Paris 2024. In the video, the mom of two transformed her kitchen into a makeshift gym, donned a swimsuit, and replaced bars with sofa cushions. And there she goes with her Olympic-sized efforts.

“I feel like I could have done a backflip. I would also like to say they make it look so much easier than it is. @olympics on repeat over here,” she wrote in her Instagram caption. Allarie added another text to the video sharing that she was having the urge to see if she could be an athlete after watching the Olympics.

Reacting to the video, Paris 2024’s official handle commented, “Us since the opening ceremony,” while another user wrote, “The switch split was pretty impressive.”

“As a former nationally competitive gymnast – you nailed it,” one commented. Another noted, “You have to had some gymnastics or dance in your background… cause this was kinda really good!” Having competed in intense gymnastics until the age of 14, Breanne Allarie also wanted to go to the Olympics but once had a major injury to her back. After recovering, she pursued professional dancing but stepped back from it after her kids were born.

Speaking to Today, Allarie opened up about the skills that she tried in the viral video. “That’s the one where I jump into the air and you pretty much land flat. Everybody was like, ‘Why are you doing a belly flop?’ But it’s actually a legit gymnastics move called the Shushunova,” she shared. She said that she wanted to show everyone that “midsize moms can do it, too…maybe sort of,” further adding that her kids are also learning from it.
