This Tech Company Just Allowed Its 30,000 Employees To Work From Home
The tech company has redesigned its offices post-pandemic to match the changing needs of its employees.

The concept of work-from-home or remote jobs gained much acceptance during the COVID-19 pandemic. From small entities to multinational companies and other businesses, most corporations allowed their employees to work from their native places. But, after some time, many corporate giants called staff to start their jobs from offices. A few companies even faced backlashes for ending remote working abruptly while others switched to hybrid mode rather than opting for an onsite option.

Now, the Founder and CEO of IT and software development company Globant, Martin Migoya has adopted a flexible approach. The CEO has allowed all of their 30,000 employees spread across 33 nations to continue working remotely if they wish to. This makes Globant one of the world’s largest tech companies by headcount to remain fully remote. This major initiative by Migoya has gained much applause.

“We have been very flexible; we will continue being very flexible. The office must be an attraction point for the people to get together, rather than just the desk in which you do your job. It’s a connection engine for the company.” Migoya told Bloomberg during an interview.

Post-pandemic, Migoya said his initial desire was to make all his employees return to office. He, however, settled on a softer approach and decided to make the offices more flexible and welcoming. “We found that people come, they get together, they use our offices in a different way, and we’ve been modifying our offices to attend to that new reality,” he told Bloomberg.

Migoya has also taken a few steps to enhance the work culture on site. The report suggests the tech company has been redesigning its offices post-pandemic to match the changing needs of its employees. Individual desks have been replaced with more round tables that fit several people while creating extra lounge space and workstations for private meetings.

Employees who choose to work from the head office in Buenos Aires can hit the gym, play games, fire up the grill for some barbecue, or even ride a mechanical bull, the report further elaborated.
