'This is Not Roti But Taco': Woman Mocks Poor Quality of Food Served in PG, Watch Viral Video

Living away from home really makes you appreciate ‘ghar ka khana’. It’s a big struggle, though rarely talked about, to rely on food in a strange city that you wouldn’t even consider eating at home. And when it comes to hostel food, there’s just no comparison to the poor quality and taste. One woman, Sreyasi Chaitan, had a hilarious take on this in her PG accommodation.

She shared a video on Instagram of her plate of food which had some fried brinjals, rice, and a roti. But this roti was no ordinary one; it was as hard as a taco. As she humorously put it, “This might look like a roti, but don’t mistake it for one. We eat it with salsa dip and some salad stuffed inside. This is a Mexican taco.” The irony was not lost on her audience, prompting laughter and relatable nods across the internet.

For those unfamiliar with Mexican cuisine, a taco is typically made with a small hand-sized tortilla filled with various ingredients. The crunchiness of the fried tortilla is a defining feature of this dish. To Sreyasi, her roti resembled a taco more than a traditional Indian flatbread, much to the delight of online spectators.

“Taco Bell’s been real quiet ever since this dropped,” joked one user. Another added, “MacD and Burger King have a strong competitor now.” The third one said, “Tutegi kaha ambuja cement se jo bani hai..” while the fourth continued, “Taco Bell’s getting the toughest competition ever…. Best wishes.”

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time such instances have come up on the internet. Earlier, another woman shared a video of the sad excuse for a paratha served in her hostel. Imagine everyone craving those soft, buttery parathas, but what she got was a tough, unbreakable disk. She even tried to smash it on the table in the video, but that paratha didn’t budge.
