In today’s fast-paced world, one common issue we all face is misplacing our phones in our own homes. It is a situation that happens so frequently and makes us so impatient that within a few seconds of not finding our phones, we often ask someone physically present around us to call us so that we can hear the ringing of the phone and locate it. Well, most of us can relate to this situation and so does this cartoon artist named Ana Patankar. Recently, one of her artworks became viral after she added a humourous twist to this everyday dilemma by using a classic song.
Ana tweaked the lyrics of the popular Tabu song Mujhe Rang De, sung by the legendary Asha Bhosle from the 1999 film Thakshak.
Ana shared a short reel on Instagram featuring her hilarious illustration. The video depicted an animated character dancing to the altered lyrics of the song, where the words ‘Rang De’ became ‘Ring De’. The animated character in the reel was on a mission to find her missing phone, perfectly capturing the essence of our struggle to locate our phones within our own homes.
The lyrics in the video humourously echoed the common plea for assistance: “(When I can’t find my phone) Ring de mujhe.”
Ana, in her caption, connected with netizens by asking, “Does this happen with you? Your phone is nearby somewhere…but you can’t find it! Then you have to tell someone… ‘Mujhe Ring De, Mujhe Ring De, Mujhe Ring De, Ring De, Mujhe Ring De.'”
