Mumbai Man Litters Train Station With Gutka Packet, Defends Action With Bizarre Reason
To everyone's shock, the commuter came up with a defence and said that he pays for maintenance services.

Keeping public places clean aligns with one’s civic sense. While many try to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings, there are some who do not pay heed to it. A similar incident was witnessed in Mumbai where a man was caught littering a local train station. Despite a co-passenger’s warning, the man was unfazed and went on to defend his actions.

In a video, the man can be seen casually tossing a gutka packet from the train’s window. Soon, his fellow passenger – who clicks the video – confronts him, asking to not repeat it. To everyone’s shock, the commuter comes up with a defence and says that he pays for maintenance services. This happened even after his co-passenger suggested that he keep the packet in his pocket and that he could dispose of it later in a dustbin.

The video was shared on X with a caption, “Sick mentality This Gentleman gives maintenance to the @RailMinIndia to clean it and he will keep on doing filth and will not improve. How to deal with such idiots. They don’t deserve to travel.”

The clip undoubtedly attracted severe criticism from the internet population. A user said, “Railway should fine him at least 1 lakh and make it a news so that other idiots like him shall take a lesson. Reel makers are anyway there to make a mock and spread awareness in a different way. India should start fine for littering.”

Another person noted, “This guy gives maintenance to the government so that he can litter around. Please teach him a good lesson.”

Reacting to the matter, an individual wrote, “Hats off to whoever confronted him and recorded it, you are a real HERO, my friend! I would have also done the same and raised the issue but, public doesn’t support it.”

The incident has also drawn a response from Railway Seva, the official support handle for passengers. They stated, “We’re concerned to see this & would like to help ASAP. We will require your train no. & mobile no. preferably via DM. You may also raise your concern directly on http://railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in or dial 139 for speedy redressal – RPF India.”

The video, shared on April 17, garnered more than 7,000 views and numerous reactions.
