Momos hold a special place in the hearts and taste buds of North Indians, as it is considered among the most beloved comfort foods. While the traditional steamed momos have their charm, in recent years, foodies have witnessed a creative evolution. Street food vendors have been experimenting with the beloved food item, which includes tandoori momos, pizza momos, Afghani, kurkure momos, pan fried momo, among others, offering unique options for enthusiasts.

Now, a viral video by a food vlogger has sparked curiosity among social media users as the cafe owner has added a new twist to the dish, which is Pepsi Momos. The peculiar preparation caught the attention of foodies online, as the person can be seen preparing steamed momos, replacing water with Pepsi. Interestingly, even the momos’ colour also resembles Pepsi’s texture.

The video starts with the vendor replacing Pepsi with water in a steamer filled with raw momos. Confused with the process, the vlogger questions the vendor about this unusual method, to which the vendor explains that the cafe owner taught him to prepare momos using the beverage. The clip then reveals the final result as the steamer lid is opened. Using Pepsi instead of water can make the momos slightly sweeter in taste. Sharing the video, the Instagram vlogger asked, “Aapne kabhi Pepsi waale momos khaaye hain? (Have you ever eaten Momos Pepsi?)”

After the video featuring the preparation of Pepsi momos was shared on Instagram, the video has quickly become an online sensation and garnered over 72,000 views. The comments section is filled with laughing or shocked emojis as viewers expressed their disbelief at the audacity of someone actually selling such a unique dish.

Reacting to the post, a user referred to them as, “Zeher momos.”

Another joked, “Looks like dehumidifier.” An individual jokingly suggested, “Bas Pepsi ki jagah magic moment dal kar dekho. (Try replacing Pepsi with Magic Moment).”

In past, there have been instances when people have gone viral for making momos made with tea, live worms, pineapple and more. Most recently, a street vendor in Kolkata caught everyone’s attention for selling chicken biryani momos. A video posted on Instagram features the vlogger ordering a plate and revealing momos are filled with rice and chicken stuffing. The viral video left social media users unimpressed, who expressed their concerns and opinions in the comments section. Sharing the video, the user wrote, “Kolkata’s First Time Biryani Momo. Yes. You Heard It Right! A New Concept Introduced By Momo Chayee.”
