It is never too late to find love and this is beautifully illustrated by an elderly couple whose love story has captured the hearts of many. In a video, Ingo and Elke, a newly-married couple from Germany were taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of Paris when they caught the eye of a photographer Christopher Ward. The man approached them and learned they have been married for just two weeks.

The clip, posted on Instagram, begins with Ward asking Ingo and Elke if they are from France and compliments on how nice they look together. “I just think you look like a very nice couple,” Ward remarked. Elke then revealed that they are from Germany, having just married two weeks ago and they are in France for their honeymoon. Elke then proceeded to share about how they met each other. “I published a notice in the newspaper (Suddeutsche Zeitung) that I was looking for a man, and I got hundreds of responses. Hundreds! And he was one of the hundreds.”

When Ward inquired about what Elke appreciates most about her husband, she described his never-ending curiosity. “He is always curious about everything. Looking for new and curious.” Ingo, an architect, added that his profession fuels his curiosity. “Because I studied architecture. That’s why I look upstairs and downstairs,” Ingo said.

Before getting married, Elke and Ingo lived in separate cities in Germany – Bremen and Hamburg – yet managed to meet each other four times a week. Eventually, Ingo moved to Bremen and lived in his apartment. The couple took their time to “learn about each other,” before getting married. After two years of dating, the couple bought a house together which they described as “a typical Bremen house.”

Ingo and Elke’s touching love story has struck a chord with many online, prompting a flurry of reactions in the comment section.
