Inbar Segev-Vigder, who got married in 2023, died protecting her 9-month-old son.

An Israeli mother was among the six people who were killed in an attack in Tel Aviv’s Jaffa area. Apart from them, at least 16 others were injured when two attackers targeted people using an M16 rifle and a knife. Hamas later took responsibility for the attack, identifying the attackers as Mohammad Mesek and Ahmad Himouni. Police and bystanders responded quickly, shooting the attackers on the spot. Mesek died at the scene, while Hamouni was seriously injured.

Segev-Vigder, the mother, died on the spot while protecting her 9-month-old son. She got married in 2023. Her husband Yeari said, “I had been serving in Gaza, and I came specifically to be with her for the birth. She was my greatest love and a great mother, full of light and love.”

The official X page of Israel shared a picture of the mother, who died at the scene and wrote: “She saved his life. There are no words. Only heartbreak. May the memory of the victims be a blessing.”

Reacting to the post, a user suggested, “That’s why stop this war.”

Another shared, “A mother’s love is the most beautiful art of God.”

“This is how Human Shields are supposed to work. The strong protect the weak. Rest In Peace sister! And hopefully, her son understands the reason his Mommy is not on Earth,” a comment read.

One more added, “May her soul rest in peace. They should have stopped this war earlier on, but this is the result of being proud and stubborn.”

According to The Washington Post, Yousef Kourdi, an emergency medical technician with Israel’s emergency service Magen David Adom, said, “I noticed several victims near the train tracks suffering from gunshot wounds. I immediately began providing medical treatment, and at the same time, passersby pointed out additional victims at a nearby kiosk.”

Israeli police reported that Muhammad Masek and Ahmed Himoni entered a train carriage and began shooting at the passengers. Later, they ran towards Jerusalem Boulevard, where they continued the attack until they were shot by local authorities and residents. Meanwhile, the police mentioned that both of them were residents of Hebron.
