Gurugram Roads Turn Into ‘Mini Oceans’ After Rainfall, Residents Share Visuals

A deluge of rain swept through Gurugram on Wednesday, leading to waterlogging and traffic gridlock. The Regional Weather Forecasting Center, New Delhi (RWFC New Delhi) had forecasted light to moderate rainfall. As the city struggled to cope with the rainfall, residents took to social media to share images and videos of the inundated streets. The visuals painted a grim picture of the chaos that ensued in the Millennium City of India.

“Gone our the days when Gurugram roads would turn into streams we now have mini oceans on roads with waves. Who needs water parks here? This is SPR,” said an individual.

Another X user wrote, “When you have a car instead of boat in Gurgaon,” while sharing visuals on X (formerly Twitter).

“What should we call this? River Facing or Sea Facing? This is the condition of roads in front of 100 crores Camillias and Magnolias in Golf Course Road in Gurgaon. This is the condition of roads in just half an hour rain and ppl here will still buy flats in 100 crores,” wrote yet another frustrated user.

This X user shared visuals of Gurugram roads submerged in water and wrote, “Gurugram witnessing the worst ever battering of rains almost looking like a cloudburst high intensity rain never witnessed before.”

Gurgaon recorded a minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, with the humidity level recorded at 89 per cent today.
