American Startup Founder Gets Verbally Abused By Job Applicant, See Chat Here
Many people asked Tony Klor to reveal the identity of the candidate so that he can be blacklisted.

When it comes to chats between a job seeker and the recruiter, both parties make sure to be on their best behaviour. But an American entrepreneur who relocated to Bengaluru from San Francisco did not have this experience. Tony Klor, who is currently part of blockchain platform Solana, recently shared a screenshot from his chat with a candidate who went on to abuse him during the recruitment process. It is unclear what prompted the candidate to forgo his professionalism, but nonetheless, the chat shows him using abusive words in Hindi.

The chat shows that when Tony Klor asked the applicant if he was still interested in the job, the candidate said, “Yes in a b***-job from a foreigner’s mouth named Tony.” Tony Klor shared this screenshot on X and wrote, “Sometimes job candidates in India don’t take rejection very well.”

In the comments, many people asked Tony Klor to reveal the identity of the candidate so that he could be blacklisted. A user wrote, “Sorry you had to go through all this. Giving up his credentials will certainly help a lot of recruiters in blacklisting. Such people should never be hired by any employers.”

Another person said, “Tell me about it, as much as we believe some people are decent enough they aren’t. Maybe we should strip them in public to show that work is work and there is a decent way to accept rejections.”

Many people also asked Tony Klor to give them a full context of the chat and even doubted that perhaps the candidate must have been provoked to be rude. Making this point, a user noted, “So are we completely going to ignore the part where you as a recruiter were trying to apologise to his mom for something before he started abusing?”

A user also mentioned, “Please don’t come to the conclusion that everyone behaves in such an absurd way in India. This guy surely didn’t deserve it, but there could be many more potential candidates here who might meet your requirements.”

Tony Klor’s post got over four lakh views since it was shared on June 2. It will be interesting to see if he chooses to disclose more about the chat, considering the attention the screenshot is getting.
