Samsung Launches New Program for Curating VR Content
Samsung aims to bring the power of VR technology directly to the people.

Samsung's latest program intends to bring the power of VR technology directly to the people and push the creative boundaries of 360 degree video storytelling.

The program will also offer classes and seminars aimed at educating a more general public about the creation of VR media.

Samsung is inviting filmmakers, video bloggers and VR enthusiasts to upload their own 360° work to the Samsung content portal, and enter the Creators competition, registration for which opened on June 22. The competition will be divided into the following categories: Music, Auto, Science and Tech, Gaming, Travel, Fashion, Culinary, Cause-related, 4D and Sports.

The Samsung Creators launch coincides with the rebranding of Samsung VR previously known as Samsung Milk VR and the US release of the Gear 36, a high-resolution camera for 360° videos.
