New Delhi: In what seems like an attempt at wooing Apple fans to buy its latest smartwatch, Samsung has announced that its Gear S2 smartwatch could soon come with support for iOS as well.

An official spokesperson for Samsung revealed that the South Korean giant is actively looking to open up its latest Tizen-powered wearable to iPhone’s iOS platform, Digital Spy reports.

The previous Samsung smartwatches could be paired only with Samsung’s own handsets. However, the Gear S2 has been opened to pair with all Android smartphones and now the company is targeting iOS fans.

While the plans are underway to get iOS compatibility, there is no official timeframe for bringing it in public.

The latest Samsung Gear S2 was unveiled at the IFA 2015 trade show in Berlin and features a 1.2-inch round Super AMOLED display with a 360 x 360 resolution. It comes with a Tizen OS and an optimized 1-GHz dual-core processor.

It will be available in two versions when it hits the stores next month - the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 classic. The Gear S2 will appeal to those looking for a minimal design, while the Gear S2 classic will offer a sleeker black finish and matching leather band.
