New Delhi: In a month of its launch, Google’s Nexus 6P by Huawei has created a buzz, but for all the wrong reasons.
At first, customers of the Nexus 6P complained that the glass covering the rear camera shattered soon. Now, there are concerns about the in-built microphone.
Google’s product forums as well as some researchers have discovered that the microphone in the Huawei-Google Nexus 6P gives out low-quality, muffled, in-call sound, a Forbes report notes.
Some users have said that covering the rear-mounted microphone resolves the issue, while others have complained that doing so causes it. As there are a number of microphones on most modern phones, there is a possibility that the microphone issue could be a resultant of a software bug with the noise cancellation.
Although the phone received rave reviews when it was launched as one of the first smartphones to be shipped with Google’s newest Android Marshmallow, if the concerns are due to hardware problems, Huawei might be faced with serious implications including product returns.
Meanwhile, Google has acknowledged the issue and is looking into the matter.
Earlier last month, Google introduced its latest Nexus smartphones, manufactured by LG and Huawei. While the LG-made Nexus 5X is the cheaper of the two at Rs 31,990 onwards, the one manufactured by Huawei is larger in display size and has been priced at Rs 39,999 onwards.
