New Delhi: In what comes as a welcome addition, Facebook has introduced a feature to let users embed their videos onto other sites. Earlier the only way to share a video hosted on Facebook was to link to Facebook page or share it through the site itself.

With the new embeddable video player, you can post the video on your blog or website by simply copying and pasting the related HTML code on the destination site.

A report in The Next Web stated that the change is part of Facebook's aim at improving the video experience on its site and its larger interest in taking on Google's YouTube which is currently the most preferred channel for video consumption.

Recently, Facebook has also introduced revamped video sections for pages to highlight content on business and brand pages.

Starting today, you will see the new embed option on your videos. You can hit that option and copy the embed code and place it at the required destination.
