Famous Malayalam director PK Sunil Nath is back with an unconventional emotional drama after a long gap. The story reportedly unfolds on an event taking place on New Year’s Day. The film is titled Murivukal Puzhayakunnu. Sunil Nath is also the film’s writer, screenwriter, dialogue writer and producer. The music is composed by Dr Sam Kadammanita. Sheeba Sunilnath is the executive producer, and VK Unnikrishnan serves as the Associate Director. Chanchal Sethuparvathy handles costume design. Filming commenced after training 37 new faces – including children discovered through social media – at the Vypin Nayarambalam theater house led by Dr Chandradasan Lokadharmi for five days. KP Nambiathiri serves as the director of photography (DOP), while Moji T Varghese is the cinematographer.
The movie finished its production prior to the Covid-19 period. It will finally hit the screens after overcoming numerous challenges. The release date is not known yet. PK Sunil Nath describes it as a modest attempt to break away from conventional cinema norms and reshape the audience’s entertainment experience.
PK Sunil Nath, a prominent figure in visual media for three decades, released the official trailer of Murivukal Puzhayakunnu. Kerala State Cultural Workers Welfare Board Chairman and actor Madhupal unveiled it on his Facebook page. Notably, the film stars Sai Krishna, a renowned dubbing artist, as the heroine, with Nayakan Jayesh Jayaram and others in significant roles, including Anjali George, Gayathri Nambiar, Ambili Saira, Priya Raj, Krishnakumar Pattukulangara, Vinita Raphael, Dr Hanish, Deepesh, VS Bindu, Kalamandalam Prabhakaran, Najeeb Lailas, MM Sajjat Bright, and Prof Chandradasan.
In 2018, PK directed the film Kathamarakupa, featuring Mallika, acclaimed for her role in Byari, in the lead. The movie portrays the challenges faced by two disadvantaged girls in their fight against corruption and injustice. Sunil Nath and Sabu G produced the film under the Welcome Productions banner, showcasing new faces in pivotal roles alongside Mallika.
