Tharun Sudhir’s Kaatera, headlined by Darshan, hit the theatres on December 29, 2023 and has been grabbing the headlines ever since. Fans have been buzzing with excitement and could not stop gushing about the performance of their favourite actor in the film. Kaatera opened to positive reviews from critics. The movie is now the talk of the town once again, and this time it’s regarding piracy. Produced by Rockline Venkatesh, Kaatera has been making noise at the box office. The movie stars Darshan, debutante Aradhana Ram and Jagapathi Babu. Now, the lead actor has sent a warning message to everyone. Recently, Darshan met his fans to celebrate the success of Kaatera. An event was organised at a private hotel in Bengaluru which was attended by Tharun Sudhir, Rockline Venkatesh, Kumar Govind, Ravi Chethan, Avinash, music director V Harikrishna, and Jadesh Kumar Hampi.
During the event, Darshan expressed his sadness regarding the piracy of the movie. He said that those who are doing this will get special treatment from the team’s side. “Don’t go for piracy. If you get caught, it’s over (for you),” the actor threatened. Darshan further added that he made the movie for his language, his people and his land. Today, the movie is a huge success because of the entire team. He expressed his happiness that fans loved the movie.
The event also witnessed a cake-cutting ceremony. He added that the film’s success means the producer who invested money is safe and will thus be able to make more such movies.
Kaatera is a Kannada language movie and is about a blacksmith in Bheemanahalli, who has to overcome many challenges to help the farmers in his village implement and execute the Land Reforms Art to help the farmers save themselves from the evil landlords who exploit them.
There have been varying reports regarding the collections of the movie. The day 1 collection of the movie as per Vijaya Karnataka was Rs 19.79 crore. The Hindustan Times reported Rs 9 crore. The gross first-day collection was recorded to be Rs 14.79 crore as per Vijayavani. The Times of India reported the net collections on day one to be Rs 11 crore.
