Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki is all set to hit theatres this Christmas, and the superstar’s fandom is all excited to see the drama unfold on screen. Much to the delight of the fans, the advance ticket booking in India finally started on Saturday. However, the film is also facing a clash with Prabhas’ Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire, which will be released one day after Dunki.
According to Sacnilk.com, Dunki has earned Rs 7.36 crore for its opening day, while Salaar has earned Rs 5.99 crore for its opening day. While Dunki’s bookings are open only for the Hindi language, tickets for Salaar are available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
As per the tracker, Dunki has sold 2,51,146 tickets for 9,658 shows across the country. Meanwhile, Salaar has sold 2,46,772 tickets for 4,338 shows across India. Out of this, Salaar’s Hindi collection stands at Rs 1.1 crore from 35,946 tickets.
Trade analyst Girish Wankhede earlier told ETimes that early predictions say that Dunki might do better than Salaar. He said, “Looking at both the trailers and the excitement right now I think ‘Dunki’ will have better screen space and better collections because this year seemingly belongs to Shah Rukh Khan and he may score a hattrick as he still is in great form and shape.”
Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the Rajkumar Hirani directorial film features an amazing ensemble cast led by Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal. The film follows the emotional journey of a group of friends who want to move abroad. The plot follows the exciting journey of those who choose an unconventional route known as the Donkey Flight, showing the difficulties they face on their way. Produced by Rajkumar Hirani and Gauri Khan, this film is a collaboration between JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films. Dunki is written by Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, and Kanika Dhillon.
