New Delhi: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh says it's a war and they'll fight it. He has also said that air support is crucial for troops on the ground.
"By air support, we mean that if our jawans are injured, we need to help them. If the ration does not reach them, we make it available through it. It is used to lift the injured and the casualties," said Raman.
"We cannot use the helicopters for bombing or firing. If they can reach the masses through a democratic procedure of election then why can't we do so. They cannot threaten us on the basis of terror."
"There is always a scope of a dialogue in a democratic set up. But who will step forward for the dialogue? Has there ever been a terrorist organisation which has agreed to a dialogue, he asked.
"We have spent 32 yrs already, should we now wait for another 30 yrs for the dialogue? The government will eventually be answerable for it. The Defence heads are now making comments about the exact deployment of the jawans and Air Force facilities. It is the duty of the Defence ministry, it's not their job," said the chief minister.
"Service chiefs should not comment on whether or not to deploy troops against the Naxals. That is for the PM to decide," he further said. "It's been 32 years since we have waiting for talks with Naxals. Option of talks never closed."
