Ahmedabad: The UPA government is likely to fall in 2013 and the country will have to face the mid term polls, BJP national vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi claimed on Wednesday.
"There is every possibility that allies of Congress that are present in UPA today will desert the government due to large-scale corruption, price rise and policy and decision paralysis that has plagued this government," he said.
"This government is likely to fall in 2013 and country will have to face mid-term poll."
In response to a question on Central government's decision to challenge the Andhra Pradesh High Court order quashing 4.5 per cent sub quota for minorities within OBC reservation, Naqvi said, "The policy of the Congress to flaunt quota for minorities will not succeed this time."
"BJP has been following the policy of justice to all without appeasement while Congress's policy of minority appeasement will not work now," Naqvi, who was here to attend the meeting of BJP minority cell, members told reporters.
On a question of Keshubhai Patel and other BJP leaders meeting to form strategy against Modi, he said it was a minor issue but the party needs to take tough stand against them.
