New Delhi: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday entered the fourth day of his indefinite fast in New Delhi against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. A team of doctors from Apollo Hospital and RML hospital examined Naidu. Delhi police ACP Anand Prakash was also present at the spot at the time of the examination.

Naidu was on Tuesday served a notice by the Andhra Pradesh Bhawan administration to vacate it s premises. But Naidu has remained defiant and has said that as the Andhra Bhawan is for the people from the state and he is fighting on their behalf, so he has the right to sit on fast there.

Meanwhile, after high drama YSR Congress Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was taken into preventive custody after his health deteriorated late on Wednesday night. Jagan had been fasting from last Saturday against the division of Andhra Pradesh.

The YSR Congress has slammed the government's Wednesday late night manoeuvres to end Jagan's fast when there were only a few supporters at the fast venue.

Jagan was taken to the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences where his health is now stable and IV fluids have been administered to him. "The doctors said the ketone levels have increased in his body. The sugar levels have also decreased. They administered fluids last night," Jagan's wife YS Bharati said.

Though, it is unlikely that he would be discharged soon. "He may not be discharged very soon. The doctors said the ketone levels have to come down. Then only they will decide when he can be discharged," YS Bharati said.

However, Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief KT Rama Rao said that Jagan had no right to go on fast as he had earlier pledged his support for the bifurcation of Andhra. "Both Jagan and Naidu had supported Telangana. Their fast is a farce, they have no right".

He also held CM Kiran Kumar Reddy responsible for the fasts held him as the main conspirator for the 'state sponsored protests'. "The main culprit is Andhra CM, he should be sacked," KT Rama Rao said.
