New Delhi: The Grand Alliance on Sunday celebrated all across Bihar as its candidates forged ahead in more than half of the 243 seats, stunning the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut extended his greetings to Nitish Kumar in wake of his alliance's imminent victory. "Nitish Kumar has come through as a hero this elections, it was a necessity for Bihar to have Nitish back as CM, we would like to congratulate the people of Bihar", said Raut.
He said that elections are fought on leaders and referred to Congress' defeat in Lok Sabha when its president Sonia Gandhi was held responsible.
"An election is fought by its big leaders. When UPA lost, it was a loss for Sonia Gandhi. BJP fought Bihar elections with PM Modi in the lead, BJP should accept this defeat", he added.
"Nitish Kumar has emerged as a superhero. His victory was the need in Bihar. He has done good work in Bihar. I greet him on behalf of Shiv Sena. The results in Bihar will bring a new turn to politics of the country," Raut said.
