Bhopal: Bhopal Police on Wednesday lathicharged Congress workers who tried to gherao Madhya Pradesh Assembly while protesting against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The Congress workers were protesting against the Shivraj Singh government for the condition of farmers in the state. They accused the BJP government of ignoring the plight of farmers whose crops were destroyed by unseasonal rains and hailstorm.
The Congress is also demanding a CBI probe into the alleged recruitment scam in Madhya Pradesh.
