Modi Makes a Veiled Attack on Sonia Over Agusta Deal
"Those involved in helicopter 'chori', should they be punished or not? " Modi said.

A massive showdown both inside and outside parliament over the augusta scandal saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi also joining the rest of his party to target the Congress over the Agusta Deal on Friday.

Addressing a poll rally in Tamil Nadu, Modi made a direct attack on Sonia Gandhi saying it wasn't he who has relatives in Italy, rhetorically asking the crowd whose relatives actually did live there, referring to Sonia's Italian origin.

"Does anyone of your relatives live in Italy? Does any of my relatives live in Italy.... I have not seen Italy. I have not been to Italy. Nor have I met anyone in Italy. If Italians have accused them what should we do?" Modi said.

"Those involved in helicopter chori, should they be punished or not? Should legal action be taken against them or not. Howsoever big they are, should action be taken against them or not? I want to know from the people of Tamil Nadu," he said at election rally in Hosur.

Meanwhile, knives were out again inside Parliament over Agusta deal which saw a war of words between Defense Minister Manohar Parikkar and Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindhia.

Outside Parliament, Congress staged its own show of strength with a march to 'save democracy' led by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi. They accused the Centre of topppling the Congress governments of Arunachal and Uttarakhand.

Top Congress leadership courted arrest at the Parliament Streets police station after being stopped on the way to the Parliament building.
