AAP leaders had indicated that Kejriwal could contest against Modi if the latter decides to contest from Varanasi.

New Delhi: Amidst speculation that BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi may contest Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, veteran party leader Murli Manohar Joshi has ordered that his posters to be put up across the city, wishing voters a Happy Holi.

The posters are grabbing attention because of speculations that Joshi who is the sitting Lok Sabha MP from Varanasi may not get a ticket if Modi decides to contest from there.

Earlier, there were reports that some senior BJP leaders may be asked not to contest elections. Even senior party leader LK Advani's name did not feature in the first list of BJP candidates. He represents Gandhinagar constituency in the current Lok Sabha.

On Sunday, AAP leaders had indicated that party chief Arvind Kejriwal could contest against Modi if the latter decides to fight Lok Sabha election from Varanasi.
