K'taka: Lokayukta records statement against BSY
Complainant Vinod B has accused the former CM and his son of accumulating wealth disproportionate to their income.

Bangalore: The Lokayukta Court on Saturday recorded the statement of complainant Vinod B, who had filed a case against former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa and his son BY Raghavendra, accusing them of accumulating wealth and possessing properties disproportionate to their income.

The Lokayukta Court took cognizance of the complaint in May under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 13(1)(c) and 13(1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

On May 21, 2012, a complaint had been filed by Shimoga-based advocate Vinod B alleging that properties had been obtained in the name of Yeddyurappa's relatives and associates. The complaint also named K Somashekar, Adilakshmamma, Umadevi, K Radhamani and HV Manjunath as the accused.

It has been alleged that Yeddyurappa and his son had been operating land conversion deals and utilising them for benami transactions. He and his son abused their powers to get the conversion done in a short time, the complaint stated.

Vinod also alleged that over 250 acres of land in a Reserve Forest in Bhadravathi was denotified between 2010 and 2011 by Yeddyurappa and his son for "pecuniary gain".
