New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been winning praise for his handling of his state but he is losing support from within his own party.
His one time chief aide Lallan Singh has called for a split in the JDU.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar said, “If all is well in Bihar, it means all is well in the party, because the party is not outside Bihar.”
JDU State President, Bihar Lallan Singh said, “I met Sharad Yadav and I have submitted my resignation...I have told him to accept it immediately.
Accusing Nitish of being autocratic and not taking party senior colleagues into confidence, Lallan Singh, on Monday gave in his resignation to the Party supremo Sharad Yadav. Not just Lallan, a rebellion is brewing in the uppercaste camp within the JDU.
Sources saying that other prominent party leaders like Shivanand Tiwari and Prabhunath Singh could also part ways with the chief minister.
However, Sharad Yadav said that the resignation has not been accepted.
Ironically all these happened on a day when Rahul Gandhi began his two day tour of the state.
His first stop was RJD boss Lalu Yadav's Lok Sabha Constituency Chapra. His tour was marred by protests. Angry students and Muslim organisations interrupted Rahul's public meeting. They were protesting against the attacks on Bihari students in Maharashtra. These dissensions are also being monitored closely also by Nitish's arch rival Lalu Prasad.
