New Delhi: One of the key absentees from the Bharatiya Janata Party National Executive in new Delhi meet is Arun Jaitley, who is now the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
Jaitley, BJP's key strategist, is enjoying the English summer and the pulsating World Twenty20 action in London.
But for his party members back home, his absence from the ongoing National Executive isn't going down too well.
"May be he is busy with his work and so did not come," said senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi.
Jaitley is a part of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and a well known cricket fan.
As a section of his party bays for his blood, perhaps he feels it's better giving the stormy meet a miss.
Joining him in missing all the action is Yashwant Sinha, though for very different reasons.
Having resigned from all posts he held in the party as a mark of protest against the manner in which decisions were being taken, Sinha is cooling his heels in Hazaaribagh planning his next move.
Along with Jaswant Singh and Arun Shourie, Sinha is the part of the troika of letter writers who have all hit out at LK Advani for anointing Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley as his successors.
As a result of all the public infighting there was no BJP leader willing to comment anything on record
The BJP has had a history of media leaks and off record briefings.
Not many have forgotten Uma Bharti's walkout from the BJP in full public glare.
Even now the case of private letters being leaked continues to intrigue party members.
But it seems that BJP President Rajnath Singh's gag orders are making an impact, at least in front of the camera.
