New Delhi: With just nearly three months left for the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission has called a meeting with all the political parties to discuss poll preparations.
The EC has called the meeting on February 4.
The Election Commission had earlier this month announced that the Lok Sabha elections will be held in five phases starting from mid-April.
The all-party meet on February 4 comes a day ahead of the Budget Session, the last sitting of Parliament before the crucial polls.
Along with the Lok Sabha polls, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will go to polls to elect their new assemblies.
The term of the current Lok Sabha expires on June 1 and the new House has to be constituted by May 31.
An estimated 80 crore voters will be eligible to vote in the coming elections after new voters have been added to the rolls, whose final revision is underway.
