Congress defeat due to corruption: Ramdev
Ramdev also gave credit to voters in the states for the debacle of the Congress.

New Delhi: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday said the Congress's defeat in assembly elections, mainly in Uttar Pradesh, was due to its failure to curb corruption and bring back Indian black money stashed in foreign tax havens.

"The Congress failed in assembly elections as it could not bring back black money stashed in foreign banks. It was also the issue of illegal mining in Goa which brought the party down," said Ramdev, addressing a press conference in the capital.

Ramdev also gave credit to voters in the states for the debacle of the Congress.

"The Congress party has broken down and the credit goes to people, who voted against them," he said.

"It was also our team work with Team Anna... we worked hard to spread awareness among the general public to cast vote for the right party," said Ramdev.

Ramdev also advised Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi to take lessons from the election results and congratulated Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav for his success in Uttar Pradesh polls.

Asserting his commitment to fight against corruption, he said: "We will continue our fight against corruption and black money throughout the country and will bring out rallies."
