New Delhi: The BSP elephant may have crushed Samajwadi Party's cycle underneath it in Uttar Pradesh and the party is all set to form the next government in the state, but believe it or not, Mayawati has lost the elections.
A candidate, who's name is also Mayawati, decided that since the BSP supremo was winning in Uttar Pradesh, maybe the name would prove lucky for her too. With this thought in her mind, the other Mayawati jumped into the electoral fray from the Srinagar Constituent Assembly.
This despite the fact that BSP's Mayawati had asked her namesake to change her name to Maya Prasad.
However, unfortunately for the other Mayawati, the name did not prove lucky for her and she lost in the elections from Ambedkarnagar - unlike UP's Mayawati who is all set to become the Chief Minister of the state for the fourth time, now.
And speaking of namesakes, the original Dalit messiah, B R Ambedkar, too has one - Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The 21st century Ambedkar, who is a BSP candidate from Lakhna, registered victory in his constituency.
