While Rupali Ganguly who plays the lead character has been retained, many actors bid farewell to the show with the leap.

Anupamaa, one of the most popular television soaps, is headed for a generational leap soon. The makers have confirmed the news with promos. While Rupali Ganguly, who plays the lead character, has been retained, many actors bid farewell to the show with the leap. Most recently, Chandni Bhagwanani, who played the role of Pakhi in the show, also called it quits and, in her latest interview, shared the reason behind her decision.

In an interview with Times Now, Chandni Bhagwanani confirmed that she is leaving Anupamaa. She mentioned that it was time for her to move on because the series was taking a significant time leap. After the leap, she had to portray the mother of a 22-year-old girl, and was concerned that she was too young for the role. Sharing how the makers reacted to her decision. Chandni said, “The makers didn’t even force me to do that. They were kind enough to understand that I wouldn’t look like a 22-year-old girl’s mother. I have always been told that I look chotu (small). So, this was like the most obvious choice.” Chandni Bhagwanani joined the show later to play Anupama’s daughter, Pakhi. She replaced Muskan Bamne in 2023.

A day back, Nidhi Shah, known for her role as Kinjal in the show, also confirmed that she was leaving the serial. She wrote a long note on social media thanking the producer, co-stars and fans for supporting her for the last four and half years she spent on the show.

Meanwhile, the show’s creators have introduced new characters, Alisha Parveen and Shivam Khajuria in the post-leap promo. The promo teases the next chapter in the titular character, Anupama’s life. An old Anupama is seen running her own company while missing her daughter, Adhya. Anupama is counting her earnings and worried about her losses when a young boy played by Shivam Khajuria, enters the scene and introduces himself as her business partner.

On the other hand, an adult Adhya (Alisha Parveen) who works as a tour guide in Dwarka is looking for clients. In the end, Adhya is seen as having some deep-rooted resentment towards her family. The show is produced by Rajan Shahi’s Directors Kut Production and has topped the TRP charts since its debut in 2020.
