Advani calls for corruption-free Uttar Pradesh
Advani's yatra reached Mughalsarai on Wednesday where he addressed his first public gathering in the state.

Mughalsarai (UP): In a veiled attack on Mayawati government which is facing corruption charges, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani on Wednesday night said the people of Uttar Pradesh would have the first opportunity to move towards a clean political system, indicating to the upcoming assembly polls.

"Uttar Pradesh is the biggest state in the country and corruption-free India cannot be established without a corruption-free UP," Advani said at a rally in Mughalsarai.

Advani's yatra reached Mughalsarai late evening where he addressed his first public gathering in the state.

The BJP leader spoke for only two minutes as the permission to address the gathering was until 10 pm.

After the brief speech, the bus carrying Advani for his Jan Chetna Yatra moved towards Varanasi where he was slated to stay for the night.
