Tyler Christopher, Actor Known For General Hospital, Passes Away At 50
Tyler Christopher was popularly known for shows like General Hospital and Days of Our Lives.

Actor Tyler Christopher, who is popularly known for shows like General Hospital and Days of Our Lives, passed away on Tuesday, October 31. He died of a cardiac arrest and was 50 years old. Christopher’s representative Chi Muoi Lo confirmed the news of his death in a statement to CNN and said, “This news was incredibly shocking, and I am devastated by his loss. He was a very gifted actor, and more importantly, an amazing friend. My heart goes out to his friends and family who loved him so much.”

Later, Tyler’s General Hospital co-star Maurice Benard also confirmed the news of his death and paid tribute to the actor via a post on Instagram. “It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher. Tyler passed away this morning following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment,” he wrote.

“Tyler was a truly talented individual that lit up the screen in every scene he performed and relished bringing joy to his loyal fans through his acting. Tyler was a sweet soul and wonderful friend to all of those who knew him. Tyler was an advocate for better mental health and substance use treatment who openly spoke about his struggles with bipolar depression and alcohol. We are beyond devastated by the loss of our dear friend and pray for his children and his father,” Benard added.

Tyler Christopher was best known for playing the role of Nikolas Cassadine in General Hospital. For his performance, he even won a Daytime Emmy and four additional nominations. However, in an interview with Soap Opera Digest in 2017, the actor said he had left General Hospital to take a “personal leave” but could not return to the show later.
