The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Northern Railway commenced the online application process for the recruitment to the post of Apprentices under Apprentices Act 1961 for imparting training at several divisions, units, and workshops in the Northern Railway today on December 11. Candidates can apply for the vacancies by visiting the official website at rrcnr.org.
The deadline for submitting the online application forms is January 11, 2024 (up to midnight). Through this recruitment drive, the RRC Northern Railway plans to fill a total of 3,093 apprentices. Before applying for the apprentices’ posts, candidates are advised to read the notice and check the eligibility criteria.
RRC Apprentice Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
Age limit: The minimum age requirement for the apprentice post is 15 years and the maximum age limit is 24 years, as of January 11, 2024. Meanwhile, upper age limit relaxations are applicable.
Educational Qualification: Those applying must have passed their SSC/10th class examination / Matriculation or its equivalent (under 10+2 exam system) with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate from a recognised Board. Candidates must also have passed the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognised by the Government of India (GoI).
RRC Apprentice Recruitment 2023: Steps To Apply
Step 1: Visit the official website of RRC Northern Railway at rrcnr.org.
Step 2: On the homepage, look for and click on the link – ‘Engagement Of Act Apprentice Online Application’.
Step 3: A new window will open, where you need to register and fill out the application form as directed.
Step 4: To complete the process, upload all the required documents and pay the mentioned amount.
Step 5: Cross-check all the details and submit the form.
RRC Apprentice Recruitment 2023: Application Fee
The general category candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs 100. The fee must be paid via online mode only. The Railway Recruitment Cell will not accept the application fee in cash, cheque, IPO, money order, Demand Draft, Central recruitment fee stamp etc. However, the SC, ST, and PwBD, women candidates are not required to pay the application fee.
RRC Apprentice Recruitment 2023: Selection Process
The recruitment process will not include any written exam. It will be based on a merit list that takes the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidate in both Matriculation, SSC, Class 10 — which is a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks — and the ITI exam; equal weightage will be given to both. As per the recruitment notification, the merit list will be issued on February 12, 2024.
