Rajasthan will most likely hold onto its tradition of being a swing state — a government change every five years — as the exit polls predicted a win for the BJP. The ruling Congress was aiming to buck the trend of alternating governments, with chief minister Ashok Gehlot expressing confidence in the party’s performance.
According to the poll of polls by News18, which is an average of exit poll results published by other agencies and surveys, the BJP is projected to win more than 100 seats, which is the majority mark for the 200-seat assembly. The Congress is projected to win more than 75 seats with over 10 seats to other parties.
Pollsters have predicted saffron dominance in Rajasthan, where the BJP attacked the ruling Congress on issues of corruption and women’s safety.

According to the exit poll conducted by P-Marq, the BJP is projected to get 42.2 percent vote share while the it is 39.7 percent for the Congress and 18.1 percent for others.
However, India Today-Axis My India exit poll predicted a close contest in Rajasthan with the Congress projected to win 86 to 106 seats, and the BJP 80 to 100 seats. The exit poll also showed a neck-to-neck vote share for both the parties with the Congress projected to get 42 percent and the BJP 41 percent.
The India TV-CNX survey also predicted a cliffhanger with 94 to 104 seats to the Congress, 80 to 90 seats to the BJP and 14 to 18 seats to others.
Rajasthan recorded more than 73 percent polling on November 25. The counting of votes will take place on December 3. The state, which is witnessing a bipolar contest between the Congress and BJP this time, recorded a voter turnout of 74.06 percent in 2018.
