Michael Phelps' Wife Nicole Johnson to Welcome 4th Child in 2024

Michael Phelps, one of the most decorated athletes in Olympics history, is unquestionably on cloud nine as his wife, Nicole Johnson, is expecting her fourth child with the American swimmer. Johnson broke the news on the special occasion of their seventh wedding anniversary on October 29. In a heartwarming Instagram post, Johnson dropped photographs from each year of her marriage, with the latest one captured at a Sunday Baltimore Ravens game. She wrote in the caption, “A memory from Oct 29 over the last 7 years with you, Phelps (I couldn’t find a 2019s pic) Happy Anniversary to my best friend, hubby and partner thru life. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.”

Before signing off, Nicole Johnson revealed that they would welcome their new member of the family next year. “For those that are wondering… yes! we’re expecting our 4th Phelps in 2024,” she added. The Instagram post was able to create a stir across the internet, with users rallying to the comment section to congratulate Michael Phelps and Johnson.

The post caught the attention of American singer-model Kaya Jones, who commented, “Congratulations and yes we’ve all been wondering as you glow with the nice belly.” One user found the revelation “so sweet” and congratulated the Phelps family with bundles of red heart emojis. Another overwhelmed user commented, “Congratulations to you both!! Happy Anniversary and may your love and happiness be with you forever.”

Michaell Phelps and Nicole Johnson have been together since 2016. They have three sons– Boomer (7 years), Beckett (5 years), and Maveric (3 years). Before tying the knot, the couple had gone through a turbulent period in their relationship and remained separated for three years from 2011 to 2014. Johnson spoke about the difficult time in an old interview with Cosmopolitan. According to the former model, that time did nothing but make their relationship more mature.

“Michael and I both know that had we tried to have a child and get married the previous time we were together, it probably would not have ended pretty. We both had a lot of learning about ourselves to do. I don’t think you can be in a good relationship unless you love yourself to the fullest and you want to help the other person become a better person. We needed that time apart to recognize that about ourselves and to appreciate one another,” Johnson revealed to Cosmopolitan in August 2016.

Michael Phelps competed in 5 Olympics during his illustrious career. The 38-year-old has claimed as many as 28 medals comprising 23 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.
