Multiple times title winner Sunrisers Hyderabad had a disastrous outing in the 2023 edition of the IPL as they finished at the very bottom of the table and ended up with the wooden spoon with just 8 points to their name in 14 fixtures.

5 Players SRH Can Target at IPL 2024 Auction:
To their credit SRH head into the auction scheduled on the 19th of December with a huge purse of Rs 34 crores, the second highest after Gujarat Titans, and can look to sort out their squad when auction proceedings get underway in Dubai.
Travis Head
The Australian batter demonstrated his skill with the willow beyond any doubt as he helped the Aussies clinch their record-extending sixth ICC ODI World Cup title in the recently concluded showpiece in India.
A statement performance in the final against the hosts, which earned him the man of the match in the summit clash, skyrocketed his stock and the southpaw is guaranteed to go for big bucks when he goes under the hammer.
Having released Englishman Harry Brooks, SRH will look to bring in the Australian to turn their fortunes around.
Pat Cummins
The pacer who captained the Aussie team that clinched the sport’s biggest prize on Indian soil will be one of those players that teams would break the bank for and fortunately for SRH, they seem to have the funds to acquire the services of the 30-year-old World Cup winner.
Cummins could prove to be the strike bowler SRH are in the market for and also has a proven track record in the IPL during his time with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Steve Smith
Another Australian who could trigger a bidding frenzy among the 10 teams is the brilliant Steve Smith. A true big-name batter with the ability to take the game away from the opponents in the blink of an eye and an exceptional fielder, Smith is expected to receive a huge payday come the 19th.
With an established track record on Indian soil and in the 20-over format, Smith would immediately improve the batting order of the unit he ends up joining and teams will be aware of the threat the 34-year-old poses.
Gerald Coetzee
The South African seamer made heads turn at the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 as he featured in the top 5 wicket takers at the spectacle. A young and hungry pacer who seems to be destined for great things if he can keep a level head will certainly be a part of the auction plans for the teams scheduled to show up in Dubai on the day of the auction.
He could join fellow countrymen Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen and Heinrich Klaasen in the SRH ranks, considering the team from Hyderabad need to perk up their bowling options too ahead of the 2024 editions.
Jaydev Unadkat
The 32-year-old Indian pacer, Unadkat, who has placed himself in the INR 2 Crore base price bracket is no stranger to big-money IPL moves.
The left-handed seamer has featured in seven different IPL sides, including the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants, during his long history with the cash-rich tournament and has registered some note-worthy performances that have won his side matches in the past.
The fact that he does not take up an overseas slot also works in his favour and it wouldn’t be a surprise if another big move was in store for the pacer.
