Taylor Swift Turns Cheerleader For Shakira And Selena Gomez At MTV VMAs, Watch

Taylor Swift dominated the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) 2023, winning in the category for which she was nominated. The singer won Video Of The Year for her track Anti-Hero, as well as Best Direction, Best Pop Video, and Song Of The Year. However, the singer became the talk of the town not only for the several accolades she received but also for her support and love for other artists. Videos of Taylor Swift cheering for Shakira on stage and rooting for her best friend Selena Gomez are now going viral on the internet.

As per reports, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift were not seated together at the VMAs, or they did not arrive together at the red carpet as well, but the two singers posed together and were seen cheering for each other as they took the stage to accept their respective VMAs.

Selena Gomez and Rema won the prize for best Afrobeats video for their song Calm Down. As Selena gave her acceptance speech on stage, Taylor Swift clapped for her friend from the audience. Taylor Swift also requested that others around her cheer as Selena won the trophy. Even Selena was captured standing during Taylor’s acceptance speech. The fan page who posted the video wrote, “Selena Gomez praising her best friend Taylor Swift while she’s giving her speech is so cute.” Reportedly, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift were acquainted with each other in 2008 while they were both dating members of the Jonas Brothers. Selena and Taylor have talked highly of each other in interviews and on social media over the years.

Taylor Swift was also seen cheering as Shakira performed on stage. Shakira sang Whenever, Wherever, Hips Don’t Lie, and other singles in her first live appearance at the VMAs since 2006. This year’s VMAs included an incredible lineup of artists such as Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Shakira, and others. Nicki Minaj also served as the emcee at the VMAs this year.

A video of Taylor reacting to Doja Cat’s VMAs performance also surfaced on the internet, where she can be seen saying, “It’s giving movie, it’s giving cinematography.”

The VMAs also acknowledged the impact of Latin music with winners by recognising Brazilian Anitta, Mexican artist Peso Pluma, and Colombian singer Karol G.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift wrapped up one leg of her Eras Tour recently, and the next set of concerts is scheduled for October in Miami.
