Satish Kaushik’s demise left a deep void in both the hearts of his fans and the film industry. At the age of 66, the acclaimed director’s passing came as a shock to many. Now almost a year following Satish Kaushik’s tragic demise, the trailer for his final film, Kaagaz 2 was recently released. Actress Smriti Kalra, who is also a part of the film Kaagaz 2, fondly recalled her experience of working with Satish Kaushik.
When asked about her experience working with Satish Kaushik, Smriti Kalra told ETimes, “Working with him as I mentioned earlier, is akin to a potter shaping clay. He assisted me in shaping my character, Tanisha. Just being around experienced individuals allows for subconscious learning. Yes, I have learned a lot from him. The experience of working with Satish Kaushik Sir is unlike that of a father figure who reprimands and pushes you forward. It’s more supportive and nurturing.”
Speaking about the most significant lesson she learned from Satish Kaushik, Smriti emphasised his advice to always give her 100 per cent effort. She recounted when Kaushik questioned, “How much more than 100 per cent can you give?” underscoring the importance of exceeding expectations and standing out. She cherished his words as a guiding principle. Additionally, Smriti noted Kaushik’s “childlike heart and boundless enthusiasm,” even in his later years. Observing his passion on the set of Kaagaz 2, Smriti Kalra found it inspiring, as if he was shooting for the first time. “It’s a reminder to always maintain the awe and wonder of a child, experiencing everything as if it’s for the first time,” she added.
In addition to Satish Kaushik and Smriti Kalra, Kaagaz 2 boasts a stellar cast comprising renowned actors such as Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, and Neena Gupta among others. The film serves as a culmination of the late actor Satish Kaushik’s illustrious cinematic journey.
On Tuesday evening, a special screening of the film Kaagaz 2 was held in Mumbai. Among the attendees were Satish’s wife, Shashi Kaushik, and their daughter, Vanshika. Anupam Kher, a close friend of Satish and a fellow actor in the film, was also present at the event.
Kaagaz 2 will be released on March 1.
