Samantha Ruth Prabhu left everyone jaw-dropped and set the internet on fire after the Oo Antava song from the film Pushpa was released. Her sizzling avatar and dance moves had left everyone gasping for breath. Several reports claimed that the actress had charged a whopping Rs. 5 crore for the song. Now, reports claim that this is the highest any actress has been paid to do an item number.
According to DNA, Samantha is the highest-paid performer for an item number after charging Rs. 5 crore for her popular song Oo Antava. The report mentioned that Samantha has overthrown the likes of Nora Fatehi, Katrina Kaif, Malaika Arora and Kareena Kapoor Khan among others.
As per the report, Nora Fatehi charges Rs. 2 crore for a song. The same amount is also charged by Sunny Leone. While Katrina Kaif charges a little over Rs. 2 crore, Kareena Kapoor Khan charges Rs. 1.5 crore. Tamannaah Bhatia earns Rs. 1 crore per song, the report mentioned.
The lowest amount charged is between Rs. 50 lakh and Rs. 1 crore by Malaika Arora. On the other hand, Jacqueline Fernandez is one of the highest-paid actresses in this bracket. She charges Rs. 3 crore for each song, according to the report.
In January last year, IWMBUZZ quoted a source in their report, disclosing Samantha’s fee for Oo Antava. “Oh, she has charged a bomb for the Oo Antava dance number. Believe me, she was very reluctant. The film’s leading man Allu Arjun personally took the effort to convince her. They had to pay her close to Rs. 5 crores for that 3-minute dance number. She had some reservations about some of the dance movements. But gradually she got into the groove and didn’t demand that even one step be changed,” the source said.
It was also reported that while Samantha charged Rs. 5 crore for the song, the film’s leading actress, Rashmika Mandanna, was paid only Rs. 2 crore.
