BTS' Jungkook Initially Turned Down Suga's D-Day Concert Offer; Here's Why
It was a sudden change of mind that made it possible for the ARMY to watch Jungkook deliver his smash-hit SEVEN live on stage.

Just days after dropping his debut solo album Golden, Jungkook made his second appearance on BTS band member Suga’s celebrity chat show Suchwita. The maknae of the globally famous all-boy band promoted his upcoming musical offering but one of the major highlights remains to be his discussion about performing at Suga’s D-Day encore concert in Seoul, South Korea. Not many know that Jungkook initially kept turning down Suga on the performance offer. But it was a sudden change of mind that made it possible for the ARMY to watch him deliver his smash-hit SEVEN live on stage. When asked the reason why, the K-pop idol admitted he wanted to support Suga and also meet ARMY.

“Well, honestly I wanted to support you. I thought being there would encourage you. And also, because of ARMY. It has been a while since I had seen that many ARMY, so I really wanted to be there," said Jungkook. It didn’t take rapper Suga to second his revelation adding that the biggest reason he wanted to be on stage with the members was also because it has been so long since they’ve put on a concert together.

“The feeling you get when you’re up on stage and hearing the cheers," said Suga before Jungkook interrupted, “It gives you the chills, right?" And the rapper quickly admitted, “Yeah, I just really wanted to feel that again." Notably, it wasn’t suitable for the flow of his setlist concert to include band members and the reason was D-Day was about Suga’s personal story. He went against considering the natural flow of the concert and invited BTS members despite the outcome. Besides Jungkook, BTS leader RM and Jimin also performed at the show.

Jungkook remembered, “You also told me the main reason was because of all the ARMY who wanted to see our concert and how happy they would be." To which Suga replied, “It’s true they really miss seeing us and if I hadn’t gone on tour this year, the break between the tours would’ve been too long." For those unaware, Suga is currently serving his mandatory service. The episode was pre-recorded before his enlistment on September 22.

Another highlight of the episode was Kim Taehyung aka V’s impromptu appearance on the set. He joined his fellow band members for a meal but abstained from drinking.

Jungkook’s Golden was released on November 3 and it includes features from the likes of Major Lazer, DJ Snake, Ed Sheeran, and Shawn Mendes.
