Los Angeles: Actor and stand-up comedian TJ Miller said women can not be as funny as men. In a new interview with Vulture, the Emoji Movie star said women are taught to suppress their humour.
"They're taught to suppress their sense of humour during their formative years," he said. "Women want to be treated as equals, and we want feminism to be a thing, but it's really difficult when every woman makes the same point about her vagina, over and over."
He added, "I think shock value works well for women, but beyond that, there's no substance. I want to see what else there is with such complex, smart creatures."
The actor said he knows his comments would not be viewed favourably, but he is fine with that.
"It's more important to be polarising than neutralising," he said. "That's my position...People need a villain, and I'm occupying that space."
