British Couple Surprises Guests With Incredible Penguin Ring-Bearer At Wedding
A British couple’s wedding ceremony took an interesting turn when a penguin ring bearer surprised their guests.

Nothing is more adorable than when couples include their flurry companions in their special day plans. It’s also amusing to witness a dog or cat appear in first-look pictures or walk down the aisle with a bride. A couple from the UK might have completely embraced the trend of animals at weddings by including a very special guest as the ring bearer.

A British couple recently surprised their wedding guests by having a penguin as the ring bearer. Yes, you read that right! The couple – Jen, 27, from the Wirral, Merseyside, and Tom, 28, of Birmingham got married in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, on February 3. During the ceremony, Pringle the Humboldt waddled down the aisle and made an unexpected appearance.

Jen’s brother, Adam, and Tom’s sister, Carys, were revealed to be the ring bearers, surprising family and friends. During the ceremony, the couple pretended they forgot their wedding bands and quickly exited the room, leaving guests feeling uneasy. They quickly returned with the 25-inch penguin, which accompanied them down the aisle with the rings. The bride and groom were already aware of the stunt because they had booked Pringle in advance.

The surprise visitor, however, left guests in stitches. Adam lured Pringle down the aisle with a bucket of fish, and he posed for several photos with the other 80 guests. He was joined by his friend and backup penguin, Widget, for moral support.

According to Daily Mail, the couple met at university and have been together for four years. Tom proposed to Jen while snorkelling in Greece 18 months ago.

Jen and Tom were adamant about having a cuddly animal attend their wedding. They also booked a reindeer for their wedding reception at Heythrop Zoological Garden, a private zoo, reports add.

Initially, they considered booking a goose as a ring-bearer but were told it did not have the ‘right temperament.’ Instead, staff at Heythrop Zoological Garden suggested that a penguin attend the wedding in Bridgenorth, Shropshire. Hiring a penguin cost the couple just over £1,000 (approximately Rs 1 lakh), which included transport and the animal handler.

Alex Ford, the couple’s wedding photographer, shared a few glimpses of the nuptials on Instagram, which social media users say have ‘truly raised the bar’.
