Liam Payne, the former One Direction member, tragic demise has left a void in the hearts of his near and dear ones. The singer reportedly fell to his death from the balcony of the hotel he was staying in during his trip to Argentina. In the wake of his death, many of his industry friends and colleagues have shared tributes for the 31-year-old singer.
Recently, Charlie Puth paid homage to the late English singer at an event at iHeartRadio HQ in New York City. The 32-year-old covered One Direction’s track Love You Goodbye, a song from the band’s last album, Made in the A.M., in his honour. Along with singing some of his own songs, Puth also beautifully covered the One Direction song on his piano to pay his respect to Liam Payne.
Puth’s cover of Love You Goodbye made Liam’s fans very emotional. They expressed their anguish in the comment section. One fan wrote, “Liam had such a huge impact on Charlie’s life and career. This must have been so hard for him to do.” Another said, “Tomorrow it will be a week since Liam said goodbye, and the pain and longing only increases.”
After news confirmed the 31-year-old’s tragic demise, Charlie Puth expressed his condolences through social media. He said, “I am in shock right now. Liam was always so kind to me. He was one of the first major artists I got to work with. I can not believe he is gone…,” he wrote in his first Instagram Story. Puth, 32, also shared a video of the two laughing with each other and added the text, “I’m so upset right now. May he rest in peace.”
In other news, on October 16, Liam succumbed to his injuries when he reportedly fell from the balcony of his Buenos Aires hotel. After his unfortunate death, his family released a statement to CNN, saying, “We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts, and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.” The 31-year-old singer is survived by his parents, sisters and his 7-year-old child, Bear.
Speaking of his professional front, Liam made his solo debut in 2017 with the song Strip That Down, which featured American rapper Quavo. In his career as a soloist, he released one studio album, two EPs, and 14 singles. Before making his solo debut, he was with One Direction for 6 years, from 2010 to 2016, before they decided to go on indefinite hiatus.
