This Miss India Starred In 83, Quit Films At 28 And Is Now Married To Jay Kotak

Many beauty pageant winners end up venturing into the world of acting. From Zeenat Aman, Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, Sushmita Sen, Dia Mirza, Lara Dutt to Manushi Chillar and Urvashi Rautela, these title holders took a huge leap from modelling to cementing their names as actress in the industry. However, there is one Miss India who quit films at the age of 28 and is now married to the son of one of the richest men in India.

Aditi Arya pursued a degree in business management from Delhi University and was working in the corporate world. In 2015, she won the crown of Miss India and represented the country in Miss World 2015. This led to her venturing into the realm of acting.

She made her debut with the Telugu film Ism, directed by Puri Jagannadh, where she was cast opposite Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. The film emerged to be a box-office success. In 2019, she marked her debut in the Kannada industry after she was roped in for the magnum opus, Kurukshetra, written and directed by Naganna.

She also worked in the lead role in the Hindi web series Tantra directed by Sidhant Sachdev and produced by Vikram Bhatt. She also starred in the web series Spotlight 2. In 2021, she featured in the sports drama titled 83, which also starred Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi and Saqib Saleem. It is directed by Kabir Khan. The film was made on a budget ranging from Rs 225 to 270 crore and it minted Rs 193.73 crore. 83 had an underwhelming performance at the box office. Right after this film, Aditi Arya quit acting.

Aditi Arya bid adieu to the industry and moved to the United States of America where she decided to pursue higher education and enrolled in the prestigious Yale School of Management, pursuing an MBA. In 2023, she got engaged to her boyfriend Jay Kotak and catapulted into the limelight once again.

Jay Kotak is the son of banker Uday Kotak, one of the richest men in India. As per Forbes magazine, as of 2023, Uday Kotak’s worth was Rs 1,11,600 crore, making him the 14th richest man in the country. The duo tied the knot in November 2023 in a grand ceremony.
