The 3-minute 48-second song marks the biggest collaboration of the year between Taylor Swift and Post Melone.

Just hours ahead of the much-anticipated album, The Tortured Poets Department, Taylor Swift is making headlines. The pop sensation is leaving no stone unturned to keep the excitement among fans intact. After treating them with the Fortnight teaser, Taylor Swift delighted her followers by unveiling the audio song ahead of the release of its music video later in the evening.

The 3-minute and 48-second song marks the biggest collaboration of the year between Taylor Swift and Post Melone. The lyrics of the song focus on being in an emotionally fragile place after a relationship is over as Swift appears to sing about a short lived romance and the hardships that come along with it, especially while moving on. As the singer unveiled the audio of Fortnight, fans speculated that it is directed at her ex-boyfriends Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy.

Swift shared the short trailer of the music video of Fortnight on Instagram and wrote, “At this hearing, I stand before my fellow members of The Tortured Poets Department with a summary of my findings. Album tonight."

The six-second teaser displays a montage of black-and-white snippets from the song, featuring Swift and Post Malone in a bright white room at desks working on separate typewriters. As the clip proceeds, we can see some dramatic scenes as the duo share a hug and throw chairs. Finally, the thrilling video cuts to Swift’s close-up with a smokey eye and her signature red lip.

Before dropping the teaser and audio of the first single from her album, the 34-year-old, in another post, expressed her admiration for Malone. She wrote, “The first single from The Tortured Poets Department is…………. Fortnight featuring @postmalone. I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever. I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight. Honestly, I can’t wait for you guys to hear this song at Midnight TONIGHT and see the video at 8 pm ET TOMORROW."

Swift’s 11th-era album will include 16 tracks, each with four bonus songs. These songs include Fortnight, My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys, So Long, London, But Daddy I Love Him, Florida!!!, and I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) to name a few.
